Do you respect as a defense Aikido art worth? Why or why not?
Aikido, and Tae Kwon Do, and some other martial arts tends to be discredited as a self-defense art. Many people often say that is rubbish, while others think that is good as any other martial art or even more. What do you think? I have generally the view that I do not think art is the best defense out there. It takes a long time to master, has no contact sparring Overall, there has grounfighting tends to be too complicated, etc. Now, despite saying all that, you can use for self defense effectiely. It just takes a long time full-time, a warrior spirit aikidokas, etc. Therefore, I tend to fall somewhere in the middle of it being trash in movement and a style effectie self-defense. What do you think?
I think it is great art. Is it as good as any other martial art. What is often misunderstood by people without training or limited training. However, no matter what those small minded people think it is still very effective for self defense. It is not for sport or for mma, but cam save your life that you stick on long enough to learn to apply the techniques to resist even against opponents. I found that much of what find is also taught in jujitsu, ju jitsu, judo and karate. The biggest difference is their methods and mentality in their training. They do not meet resistance more resistance or strength to strength. Prefers performance. The mixture with the aggressor. It may not be yours or my personal choice as martial arts in which the training. But I have to go with the story as history repeats itself. The police and military have used for many years. There is a reason to continue using it. I personally know an officer who was given a 2ns and he has said and how it has saved my life many times in the streets dealing with criminals who resist arrest hardening or who have tried to hurt or kill him. Because if what I have seen and read I plan to learn more about this great art. Now my mind very different personal identifiers. I know are the art of peace or harmony. On the contrary I want peace and pursue peace. But I think there when the only way to achieve peace is through war. Therefore as I mingle with the attack because I have a few hits even punish him with the mixture. My joint locks me to go beyond what it contains. I think I should make the joint useless.
